General Information about the course

Quality Supervision is a time-consuming activity and a number of professionals have experimented with the idea of undertaking the task as a group activity. This course is open to people who have completed the 3-day Advanced Supervision Skills courses with Stara Learning and Development. It is designed to overlay an understanding of group processes and dynamics on to the framework we use (based on the adapted Proctor model) and to the Hawkins and Shohet CLEAR model.

The course will be facilitated by either Neil Carver-Smith and/or Kate Duncanson

Certificates of Attendance

Certificates of Attendance are issued to all participants who attend all sessions and complete the practice elements of the course.

The Aim of the course is to assist supervisors to establish an effective model of group supervision in their practice.

By the end of the course participant will have:

  • Reviewed the supervision framework and model presented on the 3-day Advanced Supervision Skills course

  • Considered the advantages and disadvantages of:

  • Peer group supervision

  • Leader facilitated supervision

  • External group leader supervision

  • Explored a model of group processes and dynamics

  • Explored the skills required of a facilitator.

  • Set goals for practice back in the workplace

This course is only open to people who have attended the Advanced Supervision Skills course presented by Stara over the past 6 years.
