What's it about?
This half-day workshop is designed to assist front line workers and managers in the helping professions who are particularly at risk of crossing the boundary as the relationship aspect of the job can create both role conflict and role confusion to them. For those working in other people’s homes or within a residential setting the homely nature of the environment can lead to unprofessional conduct and negative consequences for both worker and client.
Aim
The aim of this programme is to further cultivate a proficient manner and durable skill set in maintaining appropriate personal and professional boundaries in the workplace.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this programme, the expected outcomes will be for participants to:
Identify the danger signs and high risk situations
Have an understanding of role theory
Explore and analyse case examples
Develop and practice strategies to avoid ‘crossing the line’
Assertively say NO!
What's it about?
This half-day workshop is designed to assist workers in facilitating meetings from case conferences to team meetings to training sessions. The course will review group processes, leadership and facilitation models and the use of influence where no formal authority exists. The course will focus on the particular areas the participants identify as problematic for them as a basis for practice opportunities with heavy doses of feedback from courses trainers and fellow participants.
Aim
The aim of this programme is to further develop the individuals facilitation skills.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this programme, the expected outcomes will be for participants to:
Understand the value of working from a strengths perspective
Understand group processes;
Identify the dynamics of a group through observation;
Recognise the relationship between content and process in groups;
Develop facilitation and valued group member skills;
Develop tips and tricks in facilitating groups.
