Welcome

These pages are for people who have completed the Department for Child Protection information session on adoption and who wish to enrol in the education workshops. If you have not got that far please contact the Department; a good place to start is their website.

The Department for Child Protection has contracted Progressing Priority Projects and Stara to present the Preparation for Adoption and the Separation and Attachment workshops.

Lana Glogowski and Neil Carver-Smith work on this project.

Lana Glogowski

Most people will meet Lana presenting one of the workshops but she also works behind the scenes organising speakers, booking rooms and making sure we all get fed on the day.

Lana has close to thirty years of experience in human service management and delivery which has included positions with Federal, State and Local Government in the areas of child protection, parenting services, foster care, alcohol and drug use, regional and community development as well as youth services.

A qualified secondary school teacher by profession, Lana has substantial training experience in most of the above areas and also has developed counselling skills in the women’s health and alcohol and drug use areas.

Neil Carver-Smith

Neil will be your first point of contact as he deals with all registrations. You are also likely to meet him presenting one of the workshops. Neil qualified as a social worker in the UK where he worked mainly with young people and their families. He has concentrated his career on education and training with a particular interest in child protection, preventing violence, and mentoring and training first line managers. I brief look around this website will give you a good indication of the other work that Neil gets involved in.
