Dave Rogers

Dave has worked in the disability sector for over 40 years. He has worked as a support worker, manager and trainer in a variety of settings including community, employment and accommodation.

He is passionate about training, particularly quality training for support workers, having delivered training across a range of topics, but particularly in the areas of skills development for people who find it difficult to acquire new skills, positive behaviour support and community engagement for people with disability.

Dave has delivered training in the TAFE system, run workshops for disability sector organisation staff and presented at several conferences. He believes that learning should be practical and most importantly fun.

Dave was originally a High School English teacher in both Australia and the UK for several years, but the satisfaction of teaching people with intellectual disability to acquire new skills and grow within their community, far outweighed the satisfaction of teaching Literature to High School students.
