Working with Children and Families

Engaging families as partners is the key to success

What's it about

Effectively engaging with families and children and maintaining a positive and productive working relationship is the key to achieving positive outcomes. This course will examine and practice the skills necessary for engagement, including building partnerships, the value of a strengths based approach which acknowledges the contributions of all family members and some of the strategies that can be used if things start to go wrong. Small groups will work throughout the 2 days to develop a resource file for future work.
